Up and away! Second grade is waiting, and we'll soon be on our way! |
Thank you for the exciting new loot of prizes! We can sure use a few incentives to keep our focus sharp and our studies moving along during the final weeks of school.
Please help your child practice for the spelling quizzes, do homework and have them get on Istation this month. I will be generous with prizes for attentive work and good behavior. Work that is left undone during the school day will be sent home, along with the homework packet. Also, please remind them that each "fix-it" sheet that comes back with your signature is worth 5 cents in their school piggy bank!
Congratulations to exuberant, helpful Khloe and handy, multilingual Matthias, first grade students of the month in April! By popular demand, there will be a final student of the month celebration in May (date to be announced).

Saturday we celebrated Grandma Susan who joined our class in August through the Ancianos Foster Class Grandparent Program. We sure kept her busy during the entire school year! Her help with academics as well as art and festivities is much appreciated every day. Apropos of celebrating teachers -- this coming week is indeed Teacher Appreciation Week! Just a couple hints: Miss Wally loves gardening, cares deeply about environmental issues, and loves to read. Miss Susan makes $2.45 an hour being a foster grandparent. She would probably appreciate a delicious care package with goodies to cook or bake. Mr Greywolf loves technology and tools. He carved our amazing TISA sign and made the most beautiful wood table for the teacher's room. (On the other hand, he doesn't like candy. : ) And I myself would be most obliged if every family would please, please, please, oh please complete the parent survey. (Well, OK, healthy snacks, art and spa supplies are pretty close follow-ups on my wish list.)
Directions for the Parent Survey:
1. Click on the url: https://voicenm.org/survey/
2. Select the name of your classroom teacher
3. Select the name of the class
4. Complete the survey
5. You are done! Thank you for filling out the survey!
Thank you for all your support all year! Jutka |
